🌊 ABOUT THE TOWN

Pobierowo — coastal pearl near Niechorze i Trzęsacz

A seaside resort in the Rewal municipality (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), famous for one of the widest sandy beaches on the Polish coast and a pine forest reaching almost to the sea.

📜 From a princely fishing village to a Baltic resort

The first written mention of Pobierowo comes from 1459 — the village was then under the rule of the Pomeranian princes and lived from fishing in the Baltic. For the following centuries the settlement remained a small, self-sufficient fishing community, its rhythm of life set by seasonal trips out to sea, storms and smoking fish for sale.

The heart of the resort is its wide beach and the seaside promenade, around which the seasonal life of the resort revolves — guest rooms, fish-fry bars, equipment rentals and food outlets.

🗼 The lighthouse — symbol of Pobierowo

The trademark of Pobierowo is its exceptionally wide sandy beach with a gentle slope into the water, and a belt of pine forest right behind the dunes — a natural shelter from the wind and a place for walks on hot days.

The coast in this part of the Baltic is naturally active — the dunes and the shoreline change under the influence of wind and storms, which is why some sections are reinforced.

🏖️ Beach, pier, ski slope and Velo Baltica

A wide, sandy beach with a gentle entrance to the sea stretches along the entire length of the town and — thanks to the microclimate — is recommended for families with children. In summer the designated bathing areas are watched by WOPR lifeguards, and in the centre of the resort there is a well-kept pier with viewpoints.

Pobierowo is also an excellent base for exploring the entire Rewal Riviera — Rewal, Niechorze with its lighthouse and narrow-gauge railway, Pogorzelica, and Trzęsacz with the ruins of a Gothic church on the edge of the cliff.

Pobierowo in winter
A December morning on the beach — the season of silence.

❄️ Four seasons by the Baltic

Pobierowo is a town that changes its face with the seasons. In summer (June–September) it pulses with life: fish-frying places around the centre, open-air concerts, festivals near the pier, evening walks along the beach and queues for ice cream. September and October bring the so-called 'Polish Indian summer' — an empty beach, warm sand and some of the most beautiful sunsets of the year, when the sun goes down right over the sea.

Autumn and winter bring storms that draw photographers from all over Poland. White crests of waves crash against the shore and the dunes, amber and shells wash up on the beach, and just behind it stretches a belt of pine forest — sometimes snow-covered in winter. It is also the season for lovers of quiet: a walk on an empty beach on a December morning and a coffee in one of the year-round guesthouses is one of the most soothing experiences on this part of the coast.

📍 How to get here and what's around

Pobierowo lies about 15 km from Darłowo and 20 km from Ustka, halfway between these two larger resorts. The nearest railway stations are in Sławno (about 25 km) and Słupsk (about 40 km), from where buses and minibuses run. The most convenient way to get here is by car along the regional roads from Koszalin and Bytów.

It is worth combining your stay with trips to Trzęsacz with the ruins of a Gothic church on the edge of the cliff, to the lighthouse and narrow-gauge railway in Niechorze, and to Rewal and Pogorzelica along the coastal cycle route.
